Meet Aladdin and Michele - Heroes in Animal Advocacy!
Aladdin was found in early 2013, severely emaciated and abused. He had numerous wounds, and was missing twelve teeth. Despite the condition he was in, his little tail never stopped wagging. Aladdin had a long and difficult recovery but Loved everyone that he met. Within eight months, he was a certified therapy dog. This is where his story begins…
Fast forward a year and you will find Aladdin spreading love everywhere he goes. He visits schools doing either a humane education program or an anti-bullying campaign, teaching children not to judge people by the way they look. When he visits high school or college classrooms we discuss abuse, Aladdin’s past, what the laws are for animal abuse, breed specific legislation and how it affects families. Aladdin has visited schools all over the United States.
In 2015 he was the subject of a study by Temple University’s Occupational Therapy Department. They followed him for four months while he interacted with special needs classrooms at Simon Gratz High School in Philadelphia. The data from these interactions was used to put together a proposal for the Philadelphia School Board to make Therapy Dogs part of the regular curriculum in special needs classrooms.
Aladdin also works with the Philadelphia Police raising funds for the fallen Officers Fund and attends the Philadelphia Blue Sox baseball clinics for special needs children.
Aladdin has been an ambassador for Tito’s Vodka, Vodka for Dog People Program for three years. In just the last year alone we have raised over 340,000.00 for rescues and shelters across the United States.
In June of 2016, Aladdin was deployed to Orlando, Florida after the shootings at Pulse Nightclub. While there, he provided therapy visits to victims, first responders and attended fundraisers to support the victim’s fund Along with representative of Tito’s Vodka.
Aladdin is the mascot for WMMR’s CampOut for Hunger benefiting Philabundance, feeding the homeless. He greets both donors and guests of the event, never failing to make people smile. He also visits medical schools and Our Lady of Lourdes School of Nursing to talk about the effects of pet therapy on both patients and staff. Most recently we have partnered with Student Run Emergency Housing Unit of Philadelphia to open the first pet friendly homeless shelter in the history of Philadelphia. Utilizing our connects and Aladdin’s sponsors we will be providing everything from food, basic needs to vet care.
His story has been told in both newspapers and magazines. He has appeared on TV and in radio shows. Although his story is very moving, you can’t get the full effect until you meet him in person!

Aladdin is my hero. He is a special dog, who does not allow his past to define him. He is not just another statistic. He provides comfort to those who need him most. He reminds me everyday to practice kindness, just like he does. He reminds me to greet everyone with a smile, to match his wagging tail. He has shown me that there is not much in life that can’t be overcome. Everyone writes how lucky he is to have found me, but in truth, I am the lucky one. Everyday, I get to watch him work and experience his special brand of magic.
